LiteLink Technologies Commences 1SHIFT Commercial Trials for Rail Freight Transports with Easterday Farms Across the USA

Easterday Farms is a fourth-generation, privately held farming, packing and distribution company that serves customers across the United States. The company has 25,000 acres of potatoes, onions, corn and wheat in Washington State’s Columbia River Basin, as well as a repacking and distribution facility in northern Florida.

As per the agreement, LiteLink will provide Easterday Farms with its 1SHIFT Logistics platform for its dedicated carriers and rail cars for a 45-day trial period to track and trace moisture and temperature in real time for long-distance produce transports via dedicated carriers and rail cars with their next generation solar powered sensors.

According to CoinTelegraph, Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) is on the hunt for a software development engineer to develop an Amazon advertising blockchain. The world’s largest online retailer posted a job offer on LinkedIn and reportedly is in need of a development engineer for the new advertisement blockchain.

The hire will join Amazon’s Colorado team. The goal of the advertising blockchain is to grow the advertising arm of Amazon’s business.

The job posting reads as follows:

“Our new team in Boulder, CO is looking for a Sr Software Engineer to work within our Advertising FinTech team focused on a Blockchain ledger, billing and reconciliation systems to provide data transparency on transnational financial data.”

The company is planning on leveraging its online retail data, industry-leading cloud services, and fast-moving startup culture.

What’s in the Role?

The role of the engineer includes “requirements analysis, lead design, implementation and deployment of core components, interfacing with engineers and program managers. The position will also be responsible for the operational support and maintenance of the systems.” As such, the role is a big one and requires the candidate to have a background in blockchain development as well as experience in advertising and financial technology.

Furthermore, the engineer will also “have an opportunity to define the technical and architectural roadmap for the systems.”

The job posting has spurred on excitement, as it is another step forward for blockchain adoption by the major retailer.

Back in June, Amazon announced a partnership with British insurer Legal & General (OTC:LGGNY) to develop a blockchain system.

On June 11, Reuters announced that the multinational insurer was going to work with Amazon to create a blockchain system specifically for corporate pension deals. The blockchain in question would be developed from the Amazon Web Services blockchain creator called the Amazon Managed Blockchain (AMB). It aims to process bulk annuities.

Amazon’s AMB is designed to easily create a blockchain network that is simple and scalable to manage. It uses Hyperledger and Ethereum open-source frameworks.

A new blockchain-focused venture capital fund called Proof of Capital has been established by a group of investors. The aim of the $50 million USD fund is to encourage further adoption of blockchain technology.

The new fund has been founded by three partners: Phil Chen, Chris McCann, and Edith Yeung.

It will invest in early-stage startups that are involved in blockchain technology. The group has highlighted various areas of the blockchain ecosystem that it is looking to back, including remittances, custody, wallets, security, and identity.

All three founders are seasoned professionals coming from other venture funds. Chen was formerly with Horizons Ventures, McCann with Greylock Partners, and Yeung an adviser to venture capital firm 500 Startups.

Proof of Capital is already busy with its first investment, Argentina-based blockchain startup Ubanx. This startup provides a platform that connects customers to the blockchain ecosystem of products and services.

Further, the fund is partnering with major tech giant HTC on its EXODUS blockchain phone. According to Chen, Proof of Capital will “work closely with HTC to define the standards and interactions for this new internet and bring mobile and hardware know-how for our portfolio companies.”

SIRIN Labs Loses One Quarter of Its Staff to Poor Finney Sales

According to media site Globes, the team behind blockchain smartphone Finney has laid off a quarter of its workforce. Sirin Labs has let go of 15 team members after overestimating sales of its innovative device.

The company said it had received 160,000 Finney pre-orders in late 2018, so what’s happened?

Sirin Labs Loses Workforce

The company has said in late 2018 that it only needed to sell 80,000 devices in order to make a profit. Now it seems, not only have those pre-orders not translated to actual sales, it hasn’t managed to hit the median target either.

According to the report, the company admitted that it overshot sales estimations and had to subsequently lay off 15 of its 60 employees. The company denied that it failed to pay its staff in recent months and said that it is focusing on software development and distribution.

Controversy

Apart from the poor sales of Finney, Sirin Labs has been in the midst of controversy recently. In a completely separate issue, a $50 million lawsuit has been filed in California against company founder Moshe Hogeg.

Hogeg’s venture capital fund, called Singulariteam, is being sued by entrepreneur Adam Perzow. The complainant states that he sold the domain invest.com to Hogeg for $5 million in late 2014. An agreement was made for a joint venture between the pair using that domain. Perzow alleges that he was to be made a partner and manager of this venture. However, Hogeg violated the agreement made.

Perzow has gone on to claim that the Singulariteam fund has defrauded many investors of hundreds of millions of dollars.

Further, this isn’t the only lawsuit against Hogeg. According to reports, he is facing two other lawsuits filed against him in Tel Aviv by investors in firms that he manages. While the issue is ongoing and unresolved at present, there’s no way of telling where this will go for Hogeg.

Sirin Labs

Sirin evolved from a $158 million ICO. Its intention was to make cryptocurrency-friendly phones; however, some are now wondering if its attention will move away from that and focus on the Sirin operating system (SIRIN OS) instead.

Sirin Labs launched the Finney blockchain smartphone at the end of 2018. Its price tag is a hefty $999 per device.

Aura Blockchain Ready to be Unveiled

According to reports, the AURA blockchain—which was first mentioned in March—is ready for unveiling.

AURA is a blockchain-powered platform that allows customers to verify the authenticity of luxury goods.

The team behind its include ConsenSys, LVMH, and Microsoft.

The AURA Blockchain

Owners of luxury brands Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior, LVMH, is key to AURA’s inception. The company is now hoping other luxury competitors will join the blockchain.

ConsenSys is a blockchain software technology company based in Brooklyn, New York. It teamed up with Microsoft to develop the technology that underpins AURA.

Now the group is encouraging other luxury designers to join the consortium saying AURA, is designed to “serve the entire luxury industry with powerful product tracking and tracing services.”

The group’s news release furthered:

“AURA makes it possible for consumers to access the product history and proof of authenticity of luxury goods — from raw materials to the point of sale, all the way to second-hand markets.”

The AURA blockchain works by storing unique information about every product stored on the decentralized ledger. Users can then use a brand’s official app to download a certificate which details the authenticity of the good.

Opera Adds Support for Tron

The AURA blockchain isn’t the only crypto news today.

Internet search engine, Opera, is adding support for Tron’s TRX and TRC-standard tokens in its browser-based crypto wallet.

Once the integration of the TRON blockchain is finished, users of the browser will be able to use those tokens within the browser.

The support from TRON also allows Opera’s 300 million users play Tron games and use its decentralized apps (dApps)—all within the browser.

Tron currently has over 400 dApps built on the Tron blockchain.

Opera launched its native crypto wallet in December of 2018 and already holds support for Ethereum and any ERC-20 standard tokens.

The web browser said that it has plans to add support for “multiple” blockchains in the coming year.

uBUCK Technologies Announces Non-Brokered Private Placement of up to US$4 Million

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 23, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — LiteLink Technologies Inc. (“LiteLink”) (CSE:LLT) (OTC:LLNKF)(FRA:C0B), a key player in logistics platforms and payment solutions, is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary uBUCK Technologies SEZC (“uBUCK”), will conduct a non-brokered private placement of up to 8,000,000 preferred shares, at a price of US$0.50 per share for aggregate gross proceeds up to US$4,000,000 based on a pre-money valuation of US$25,000,000.

uBUCK intends to use the proceeds of the private placement to complete the development of the uBUCK and Streambucks digital wallets, accelerate growth and increase customer acquisitions.

The closing of the initial tranche of $400,000 of the offering is scheduled to occur on or about September 30, 2019. Under the terms of the offering, uBUCK expects an initial investment milestone of US$1,500,000 will be made in exchange for 3,000,000 preferred shares at a price of US$0.50 per share by June 30, 2020. Following the first milestone installment of US$1,500,000, the investor will have the option, until September 30, 2021, to invest an additional US$2,500,000 for a total of 8,000,000 preferred shares at a price of $0.50 per share.

The private placement is a non-dilutive transaction for LiteLink shareholders. The transaction will be subject to all necessary regulatory approvals and may close in one or more tranches. The first tranche is expected to close on or about September 30, 2019.

The initial investment of US$1.5 million would give the investor a 6% ownership in uBUCK. An additional US$2.5 million investment would result in a 16% ownership of the uBUCK. The preferred shares come with first rights to dividends of 6% (of the amount invested) and first claims to assets up to the investment in case of liquidation.
